My first encounter with “The Hobbit” was not reading the book or watching the animated film, but listening to the tale through a family friend. His ability was an art, keeping four young girls intrigued through the entire tale. To me, these stories became legends, lost treasures of “history,” passed down through the generations. Rightfully so, these tales had an affect on this small town girl.
Being born and raised in Kansas, I must admit “there is no place like home.” That being said, I’ve always enjoyed exploring new territory. So, after graduating, with a degree in Anthropology, it was time.
I rode into Austin on the back of a tornado with my dog Toto (okay, okay. Her name is Daria..and she’s 90lbs not 8lbs) and my Cowardly Lion, Basil, aka my cat to see what this big city life has in store.
